Chapter 9: Part 2

People aren’t always what they seem. Take Cranberry Apple, for example. I thought she was a player of some kind, but she was much worse.

What she was after, I wasn’t sure, nor did I want to know.

She came to “visit” us an early spring morning. I though that maybe she was going to even things out.

But apparently, that wasn’t the case.

She looked at the kids like they were something to eat. She seethed cold-blooded words and grinned in a twisted way, “Lemon, do you know how much your kids are worth?” Then, her look turned innocently, as if that was a casual question.

I turned to her, disgusted, and in turn yelled at her, “How much are they worth?” As I said it, my gaze turned to Vanilla and Lily.

Still grinning, she waved to me and left the house. As she did she said the final words I would hear from her, “Think about it Lemon.” But that was all she needed to break me.

I knew then and there what she wanted, what she came for. Why she wanted me. She wanted to sell her own children, but she knew Sugar would “provide much more valuable babies,” Cranberry had murmurred to herself after taking a final look at the kids.

In anguish I picked up Vanilla and kept her close. Sugar then came up to see all the commotion.

“Are you okay?” she looked at me, worried. “Why was she here?”

I looked at her and without hesistation said it. “We’re leaving.”

Chapter 9, Gen. 1: Part I

🙂 First WP chapter!!

With Vanilla not able to speak, life in the house was brought down.

The triplets only sat on the couch watching T.V., unlike they did before the news.

Lemon and I were always running around, trying to tend to six kids, and after a while, we  had virtually no time for ourselves.

Of course, we did get some help from Golden Rod; he babysat his brothers and sisters while we were out or while I was napping and Lemon was at work.

Although, he was at home less and less, always with his “friend,” Raisin Grape. They were cute together, even if he always told us, “We’re just friends,” kind of like I did with Lemon when we were highschoolers.

All he’d do at a point was be with her. Young love, so romantic! I found some boquets of flowers from our house were disappearing, and you can guess where they went.

Then there was the day he decided to ask her to prom, despite “just being friends.”

All they did was gaze up at the stars at Peppermint Pier.

But we had much larger issues outside the house. “Cranberry?”
